Power FAQs
What are Ona® Power gloves best for?
The Power is ONA’s all-round protective glove, combining moulded TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) knuckle guards and finger padding with Gripster™ technology on Pittards technical leather. It delivers high levels of protection, grip, and freedom of movement — making it equally suited to competition and daily training.
Is the Power glove a good choice for beginners?
Yes. The Power’s protective construction gives players an added degree of confidence, which is particularly valuable for those still developing their technique and feel for the reins and mallet. It is a great entry point into protective polo gloves without compromising on quality.
How do I care for my Power gloves?
Hand wash gently with mild soap in lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly, squeeze out excess water from fingers downwards, and pull gently back into shape. Hang to dry away from direct sunlight or heat. After every chukka, hang them out to air and bring them back into shape — this simple habit makes a real difference to how long they last.
What grip does the Power Yellow offer?
The Power gloves use Gripster™ technology — a microscopic incorporation of grip-enhancing material into the surface of the leather that increases surface area and consequently improves grip. Combined with reinforcements in key areas, it delivers firm, reliable control of the reins and mallet throughout play.
Do professional players wear the Power gloves?
Yes. The Power range is worn by Ona® ambassadors and professional players in top-tier tournaments worldwide. The choice of colour comes down to personal or team preference — the performance credentials are the same across the range.
